The Newcastle Jets are undergoing a period of transition following a heavy 7-1 defeat against Japan’s Kashima Antlers in the AFC Champions League Elite. Midfielder Zach Clough described the loss as an ‘eye-opening experience’ regarding the physical and competitive gaps the team must bridge before the A-League season.

In response to significant squad changes and the recent tournament loss, coach Mark Milligan stated the club has had to push the “reset button.” Alongside these competitive adjustments, the club has expanded its commercial activities, including the release of new kits and the elevation of Oz Shipping Containers to the role of Principal Partner for the 2026/27 season.
