Following the reported departures of head coach Eddie Howe and midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton has addressed the changes at the club. Joelinton expressed gratitude to Howe, describing him as a “great man” and a “great head coach” who facilitated his transition to a midfield role. He also acknowledged Guimaraes’s professionalism regarding his decision to leave.

As the club transitions under new head coach Matthias Jaissle, Joelinton has been designated as vice-captain within a new five-man leadership group. Despite previous transfer rumors linking him to Saudi Arabia, the club reportedly intends to retain the 30-year-old through the January transfer window. Joelinton is currently recovering from a muscle injury sustained in mid-August and is expected to return to competitive action in October.
