The Kansas City Chiefs maintained their undefeated start to the 2026 NFL season with a 30-27 comeback victory over the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium, moving to 4-0. Kenneth Walker III led the offense with 177 rushing yards and two touchdowns, a performance that set a new Chiefs franchise record for rushing yards through the first four games of a season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

While the victory secured first place in the AFC West, it came at a significant cost to the Chiefs' roster. Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton suffered a severe ankle injury and was carted off the field, while Rashee Rice was sidelined with a hamstring strain. Consequently, reports indicate the Chiefs have contacted agent Drew Rosenhaus regarding the potential acquisition of free-agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill to bolster their receiving corps.

Following the game, Raiders star Maxx Crosby praised Walker’s performance, noting his ability to add a new dimension to the Chiefs' offense. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes commented on the mentorship of Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza by veteran Kirk Cousins.

The Raiders, now 3-1, were led by Kirk Cousins, who threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns. Despite Cousins’ performance, the team struggled with a run game that averaged only 2.8 yards per carry. Facing significant depth issues at wide receiver due to injuries to Dont’e Thornton Jr., Corey Rucker, Jack Bech, and Jalen Nailor, head coach Klint Kubiak stated that “all things are being considered” regarding potential roster moves, including trades or free-agent signings, ahead of their Week 5 game against the New England Patriots.
