The program aims to celebrate local team cultures, similar to existing specialty uniform series in the NBA and MLB. Various teams have begun teasing their designs through practice gear and ciphers. The Washington Capitals have hinted at aesthetics inspired by their 1995–2000 era, potentially featuring marble textures and cherry blossom tributes, while the Tampa Bay Lightning have been observed using all-black helmets in practice. Other teams, including the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators, have also provided clues via practice equipment. Specific debut dates for the new uniforms have been set. The Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders are scheduled to wear their designs on November 4 and November 5, respectively. The St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets will debut their looks on November 17.
