Nicaraguan officials and educational institutions held several events in Managua to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the conclusion of the 1980 Great National Literacy Crusade. 

Activities included a marathon organized by the Ministry of Education and a National Meeting of Literacy Workers involving 60 brigadiers and educators. These gatherings featured photo exhibitions, audiovisual productions, and discussions where historical participants shared experiences from the original campaign. 

Co-president Rosario Murillo and Education Minister Mendy Aráuz delivered remarks during the commemorations. Murillo celebrated the country’s history and the heroism of its people, while Aráuz highlighted the expansion of free technical and professional education in the decades following the crusade.
