Nichi Vendola, president of Sinistra Italiana, has begun presenting his new book, “Il vizio della ferocia” (The Vice of Ferocity), published by Laterza. The work provides a political and historical analysis of the decline of democracy and the resurgence of fascist elements in contemporary politics.

During a presentation in Bari, Vendola addressed the rise of aggressive political language, the crisis of the political left, and historical parallels to fascism, including Trumpism and sovereignty movements. He also commented on the Court of Cassation ruling regarding the former Ilva plant in Taranto, arguing that constitutional rights to health and work must be balanced against corporate interests.

Following the Bari event, Vendola scheduled a presentation in Lecce to further discuss themes of toxic rhetoric, dehumanization, migration policies, and the militarization of society.
