Romanian midfielder Nicolae Stanciu is considering a return to the Romanian SuperLiga following the expiration of his contract with Dalian Yingbo on December 31.

Two Liga 1 clubs, Universitatea Cluj and FCSB, have expressed interest in the 33-year-old. Reports suggest Stanciu may favor a move to U Cluj for personal reasons, including proximity to his hometown of Alba Iulia and to support his wife’s medical needs in Cluj. While a formal agreement has not been announced, reports indicate a verbal understanding may exist for a potential winter transfer.

Financial considerations involve a significant shift from his current Chinese salary of approximately two million euros per season to a potential Romanian annual salary of roughly 360,000 euros, plus a 100,000 euro signing bonus. Stanciu has expressed gratitude to his current supporters in China via social media while noting that his professional work is not yet finished.
