E. Y. reportedly has a criminal record with 11 pending cases involving similar offenses in Famagusta, Kyrenia, and Gönyeli, including previous failures to comply with court orders. 

A second individual, C. A., was also arrested for allegedly concealing the suspect by providing a vehicle and a hiding place to prevent arrest.
