Nigeria has recently appointed new ambassadors to strengthen diplomatic ties with various international entities. 

In Jerusalem, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu presented her Letters of Credence to Israeli President Isaac Herzog. Ufochukwu indicated that her mission would focus on expanding cooperation in sectors such as trade, investment, agriculture, technology, security, and cultural exchange. President Herzog expressed Israel’s readiness to collaborate, particularly regarding innovation and counter-terrorism.

Additionally, Ambassador Adikwu presented his credentials to Pope Leo XIV at the Holy See. A diplomat with a background in education and theology, Adikwu’s appointment aims to facilitate renewed diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and the Vatican, building upon existing relations involving the Catholic Church’s social and healthcare networks in Nigeria.
