The Nigeria Police Force has undertaken several specialized training programs to enhance operational capabilities. In October 2026, thirty officers completed a course in Basic Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to utilize drone technology for combating terrorism and banditry through aerial surveillance and intelligence gathering.

Following this, the Nigeria Police Trust Fund launched a nationwide program for 10,000 officers focused on preparing for the 2027 general elections. This initiative emphasizes election security management, crowd control, conflict prevention, and de-escalation tactics, with an emphasis on human rights and maintaining public trust during the electoral process.
