In preparation for the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) and the Nigeria Ladies Open Championship in Abuja, the Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) has sought a medical partnership with the National Hospital Abuja. LGAN President Lami Ahmed stated that the back-to-back events require comprehensive medical preparedness to ensure the safety of elite female golfers, officials, and spectators. The request includes ambulances, medical personnel, and emergency evacuation arrangements. The AACT is scheduled for November 2–7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, followed by the Nigeria Ladies Open Championship from November 7–10. Technical Director Julius Fadairo has confirmed that preparations, including course inspections and caddy readiness, are underway. To enhance social impact, organizers have introduced the ‘Girls in Golf Legacy Project,’ led by coordinator Uloma Mbuko Ogbuokiri, which aims to mentor 300 young girls in leadership and golf skills. Consultant Munir Tijjani noted that technical planning is progressing with federal government support. Further expanding the local landscape, Alpha-Bravo Integrated Services has secured a three-year sponsorship with the Sunshine Development Tour (SDT) to host the Alpha-Bravo Golf Classic at the Lakowe Lakes Golf Club in Lagos from 2026 to 2028. The inaugural edition is scheduled for November 18–21, 2026, with a $25,000 prize purse.
