The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has provided updates regarding vessel activity and security at the Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea, and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos.

In late July, the NPA reported that 38 vessels carrying petroleum products, foodstuffs, and other cargoes were scheduled to berth. During this period, the authority also donated tactical and protective equipment, such as bullet-proof vests and helmets, to the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command to strengthen security across seaports and waterfronts.

By mid-August, the NPA projected 21 ships to berth at the same Lagos ports, carrying items including petrol, containers, crude oil, and aviation fuel. At that time, 11 ships were waiting to berth and 23 ships were actively discharging various cargoes, such as crude palm oil and bulk gas.
