Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov was recently a healthy scratch for a game against the Los Angeles Kings due to disciplinary issues. The decision followed a game against the Anaheim Ducks where Zadorov received a double-minor penalty for elbowing and roughing. Coach Marco Sturm noted that while Zadorov is a leader, his on-ice discipline requires improvement.

Zadorov expressed feeling ‘disappointed’ and ‘disgusted’ by the situation, though he stated his intention to move on. Following the scratch, discussions emerged regarding his performance and future role with the team. His agent, Dan Milstein, sparked controversy by suggesting Zadorov might be treated differently in other markets, such as Toronto. Analysts have also raised questions about whether the Bruins might consider trading him at the trade deadline given his recent struggles with discipline and production.
