Sources: 18. Developments: 2. Nissan is conducting large-scale autonomous driving trials in different international regions to test mobility services and technical capabilities. In Yokohama, Japan, Nissan is collaborating with Moplus Co., Ltd. and KDDI Corporation on a demonstration experiment scheduled for late 2026. This project utilizes Nissan Serena-based vehicles to test SAE Level 2 autonomous driving with safety drivers, aiming to gather data for future Level 4 implementation. The trial focuses on remote monitoring, communication congestion, and building a service ecosystem across urban areas including Minato Mirai and Sakuragicho. Simultaneously, Nissan has launched the ‘ADventure’ project in Cambridge, United Kingdom. This £3 million research initiative, supported by the UK Government and developed with Warwick Manufacturing Group and PAVE UK, uses a modified Nissan Leaf to test technology in real-world community settings. The UK trial emphasizes social value, user experience, and the integration of autonomous mobility into existing transport networks to assist those unable to drive. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-28: Nissan launches £3 million autonomous driving trial in Cambridge Nissan has launched a £3 million UK government-backed project in Cambridge to test autonomous driving technology and its potential for real-world community mobility services. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/nissan-launches-3-million-autonomous-driving-trial-in-cambridge ### 2026-09-14: Nissan to launch autonomous driving pilot in Yokohama Nissan and Moplus will launch an expanded autonomous driving mobility demonstration in Yokohama in late 2026, using 10 vehicles to test service ecosystems and remote monitoring capabilities. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/nissan-to-launch-autonomous-driving-pilot-in-yokohama --- Cite as: Nissan autonomous driving technology trials.
