The long-standing rivalry between bantamweight competitors Norma Dumont and Ailin Perez reached a peak during the UFC Vegas 121 weigh-in. The confrontation involved verbal insults and Dumont throwing cash and condoms at Perez following a provocative dance by the latter.

During the co-main event at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Perez defeated Dumont via unanimous decision, with judges scoring the bout 29-28 across all three cards. The match was characterized by Perez’s grappling and Dumont’s striking. While Dumont found success with striking and leg kicks in the second round, Perez’s wrestling and grappling control, particularly in the first and third rounds, proved decisive. This victory extends Perez’s UFC winning streak to seven fights and positions her as a potential bantamweight title contender.

Following the fight, security had to intervene to prevent a physical altercation between the two athletes after Dumont continued to taunt Perez during her victory celebration. In her post-fight interview, Perez addressed the personal nature of the feud, stating, ‘She treated me like a prostitute, what do you want me to say?’

In the days following the bout, the tension escalated digitally. Perez reported receiving Instagram messages from Dumont that allegedly contained threats of physical violence. Perez claimed Dumont wrote, ‘I already hit you once and I will hit you again when I see you.’ Despite the hostility, Perez expressed a desire for a professional truce on social media, stating that while they likely will never be friends, she respects Dumont as a competitor and a tough opponent.
