North American lithium production and development activities have seen significant movement through capital raising and project expansion announcements.

Prairie Lithium, previously Arizona Lithium, listed 200 million shares on the Australian Securities Exchange to secure funding for its Saskatchewan, Canada, projects. The company aims to utilize Direct Lithium Extraction technology to begin commercial production by the fourth quarter of 2026.

Following this, producers Lithium Universe and Elevra Lithium released positive pre-feasibility studies for large-scale projects. Lithium Universe confirmed the viability of a $607 million refinery project in Texas designed to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate. Simultaneously, Elevra Lithium announced a staged expansion in Quebec intended to nearly double annual spodumene concentrate production to 373,000 tonnes per annum.
