The North Carolina Tar Heels football team secured a 21-17 road victory against No. 25 Pittsburgh. This win marked head coach Bill Belichick’s first victory over a ranked opponent at the collegiate level. The comeback was led by quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., who threw a decisive 75-yard touchdown pass to Shamar Easter in the fourth quarter.

Following the victory, the Tar Heels, who hold a 3-2 record, have appeared in several postseason bowl projections, including the Military, Frisco, Birmingham, and Mayo Bowls. However, the team requires three additional wins to reach bowl eligibility. Roster concerns have emerged as starting cornerback Tre Miller is considered doubtful for the remainder of the season due to an ankle and foot fracture sustained during the Pittsburgh game.
