# North Macedonia youth policy regional model

In North Macedonia, Minister of Social Policy, Demography, and Youth Gjoko Vellkovski has proposed using the ‘Youth Policies for Youth’ project in the Pelagonia region as a national model. The initiative, implemented by the organization Pro Lokal, focuses on increasing the participation of young people and civil society organizations in decision-making processes.

Through a Regional Youth Platform involving nine municipalities, the project identified 24 priority measures across sectors such as education, health, transport, and entrepreneurship. To date, 13 of these measures have been implemented. Local leaders and ministers suggest that this collaborative approach between municipalities and the youth sector is essential for city development and for addressing youth needs to prevent migration.
