In Northern Cyprus, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced a new high-level addiction combat strategy during a symposium. The initiative aims to move away from fragmented efforts toward a unified state policy coordinated by the Prime Ministry.

The strategy is designed to address substance abuse as well as digital addiction, illegal betting, and gambling. To support this, the government plans to establish a 16-bed AMATEM facility and continues to utilize the 1191 Addiction Counseling and Support Line, which has provided services to over 25,000 individuals and their families.
