Northern Ireland began their UEFA Nations League B Group 2 campaign with a historic 1-0 away victory against Georgia in Tbilisi. The match was decided by a last-minute volley from Shea Charles in the ninth minute of stoppage time, complemented by a penalty save from goalkeeper Pierce Charles.

Following this win, Northern Ireland hosted Georgia at Windsor Park. Entering the match at the top of the group with seven points, Northern Ireland sought to secure a promotion play-off position. The fixture was marked by significant tension, including a missed penalty by Isaac Price, which was saved by Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
