In the Northern Premier League, Runcorn Linnets and Lincoln United both recorded 1-1 draws in late September. Runcorn Linnets leveled their match against Chasetown shortly after conceding, while Lincoln United held second-place Morpeth Town to a draw despite early pressure.

By October, Runcorn Linnets secured a 2-2 draw against Congleton Town to avoid a third consecutive defeat. This match, overseen by interim manager Jacques Welsh following the resignation of Michael Ellison, featured a comeback led by teenage substitutes, including Oscar Wright, who scored his first goal for the club.
