# Norwegian labor negotiations and wage settlements

Norwegian labor organizations LO and NHO have been preparing for critical negotiations regarding wage settlements, sick leave cooperation, and pension reforms following a period of strikes. 

In the food and beverage sector, NHO Mat og Drikke and the Norwegian Union of Food and Beverage Workers (NNN) reached a mediation agreement to avoid a strike. This settlement includes a general wage increase of 6.50 NOK and a minimum hourly wage of 236.09 NOK, effective May 1, 2026. 

Subsequently, Norsk Arbeidsmandsforbund and NHO Reiseliv reached a separate collective agreement for ski resort employees to avoid industrial action. This agreement includes a 6.50 NOK general hourly wage increase and a 10.50 NOK increase to minimum wage rates, both effective May 1, 2026. It also introduces seniority supplements for long-term workers and provisions for the advance payment of sick, care, and parental benefits.
