Following a period of heavy rainfall in September, where the city recorded over 300 millimeters of rain, Nova Iguaçu has intensified road repair operations. 

Undersecretary Rodrigo Gatto noted that frequent rain had previously hindered maintenance because asphalt application requires dry ground. With improved weather, municipal teams are working across various regions, including Rua Estados Unidos, Via Light, Austin, and the area near the Miguel Couto Center, to address pavement deterioration caused by intense traffic and consecutive rains.
