Novi Sad is pursuing various international cooperation agreements to strengthen economic and sectoral ties. 

In August 2026, officials from Novi Sad met with a delegation from the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the Business Russia organization. The discussions focused on a roadmap to expand economic cooperation, education, healthcare, and conference tourism. This follows a period of significant trade, with foreign trade turnover between Novi Sad and Russia reaching 920.1 million euros in 2025.

In September 2026, the Novi Sad Fair signed a long-term partnership agreement with BVV Brno Trade Fairs and Exhibitions. This agreement, supported by the Serbian and Czech ministries of agriculture, aims to facilitate cooperation in agricultural manifestations, energy, and machinery, specifically to support small and medium-sized enterprises through shared technology and knowledge.

On September 7, 2026, Novi Sad Mayor Zarko Micun and Khursidbek Samiev, Deputy Governor of the Samarkand region in Uzbekistan, signed a Letter of Intent to establish cooperation between the two cities. The agreement targets development in economy, investment, science, education, health, tourism, sports, culture, and art. Mayor Micun noted that the partnership follows strong bilateral relations between Serbia and Uzbekistan and highlighted the potential connection between Novi Sad, a European Capital of Culture, and Samarkand, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
