Regarding the removal of petrol subsidies, Abiodun argued that state governors should be responsible for explaining how the resulting increased allocations are utilized, rather than the President. He stated that these funds have been directed toward essential infrastructure, such as roads, schools, housing, and airports, as well as farmer incentives. In terms of economic and security priorities, Abiodun highlighted plans for Ogun East to become an economic hub through industrial expansion and major projects like the Gateway Deep Sea Port. Additionally, as chair of the Southern Governors' Forum, he advocated for the implementation of state police, suggesting a recruitment need of approximately 554,353 additional personnel to meet United Nations benchmarks.
