Oklahoma State University athletics recently engaged in Big 12 competition involving football and women’s soccer. In football, the No. 18 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys, holding a three-game winning streak, hosted the UCF Knights at Boone Pickens Stadium on October 10, 2026. This Week 6 matchup marked the first time UCF played in Stillwater.

Oklahoma State entered the contest with a 3-1 record under head coach Eric Morris. As one of five teams in the Big 12 without a conference loss, the Cowboys aimed to maintain their standing for conference championship contention. UCF arrived with a 3-2 record under Scott Frost, noting a history of winning previous meetings against Oklahoma State despite a streak of 11 consecutive away losses.

The Cowboys secured a 42-28 victory over the Knights. Although the game was tied 21-21 at halftime, Oklahoma State outscored UCF 21-7 in the second half. Quarterback Drew Mestemaker led the offense, and safety Evan Jackson contributed a defensive touchdown via a scoop-and-score. Head coach Eric Morris noted that while the team faced challenges with the run game and early tackling issues, they demonstrated the grit necessary to overcome UCF’s clock-management strategy. The win moves the Cowboys to a 4-1 record as they prepare for their upcoming matchup against Houston.

In women’s soccer, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls were scheduled to host No. 12 Texas Tech before traveling to face UCF.
