# Olive culinary competitions in Europe

Various olive-related culinary competitions have been announced in Italy and Spain. 

In Italy, the sixth edition of the Ercole Olivario national competition has opened registration for table olives and olive pâté. The contest covers the 2025/2026 campaign and includes new evaluations for product shelf life and sensory training. Due to production challenges, regulations permit the use of 2024/2025 harvest lots for DOP and IGP products. 

In Spain, the Ajuntament de Borriol announced the fifth International Broken Olives Competition, scheduled for October 3 and 4, 2026. This event is intended to promote local gastronomic traditions and is open to non-professionals and local associations.
