Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman is conducting a three-day official state visit to the United Kingdom, representing the first visit by an Omani Sultan to the country in 44 years. Upon his arrival at Windsor, the Sultan was received by King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Prince William. Because the Sultan traveled without his spouse, traditional greeting protocols were adjusted, with Prince William meeting the Sultan at his accommodation before the party proceeded to Windsor Castle via a convoy of state coaches.

During the visit, King Charles III hosted the Sultan with a state banquet at Windsor Castle. In his address, the King commended Oman’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional stability and peace in the Middle East, specifically noting the nation’s role in facilitating mediation and keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. He also praised the character of the Omani people, reciting an Arabic Hadith to honor their hospitality.

The banquet included over 150 guests and various members of the British royal family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. During the event, Queen Camilla wore the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, along with amethyst earrings and Art Deco Cartier bracelets previously owned by Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother. The Princess of Wales attended in a long golden gown.
