Municipal elections and civic engagement activities are underway across various Ontario communities.

In Chatham-Kent, internet voting for municipal and school board elections began on October 8 and is set to conclude on October 16. Voters must use an elector ID and email to participate. Meanwhile, in Kitchener, community organizations are using theatrical performances to promote democratic participation and facilitate candidate meet-and-greets ahead of the October 26 election.

In other regions, candidates are debating local policy and development. In Wilmot Township, discussions have centered on groundwater protection, farmland preservation, and property taxes, specifically regarding whether to oppose a proposed 770-acre industrial development. In North Dundas, candidates are focusing on infrastructure, economic needs, and financial sustainability.
