The Opel Mokka GSE, a high-performance electric vehicle, has transitioned from competition use to a production road model. 

In the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup, the Mokka GSE Rally—capable of producing up to 207 kW (281 hp)—debuted in all special stages of a German Rally Championship round at the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg. This competition utilized a ‘Remote Charging’ infrastructure involving battery-electric semitrailers to transport charging cubes to various locations, ensuring zero local emissions for both rally cars and support vehicles. Due to these capabilities, the electric rally model was integrated into the overall rally standings.

Following its motorsport application, Opel introduced the Mokka GSE as a high-performance electric compact crossover for daily use. This production model incorporates technology from the racing division, including a 207 kW motor, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and a specially developed chassis with hydraulic end-stop shock absorbers to bridge the gap between the rally competition model and a road vehicle. Recent updates highlight the Mokka GSE as Opel’s ‘fastest production electric SUV to date’, featuring Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology.

The ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup has expanded its international presence, making its Italian debut at the 73rd Sanremo Rally. Scheduled for October 16 to 18 on the Italian Riviera, the event features 13 teams from nine European nations competing in Mokka GSE Rally cars. These vehicles deliver up to 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Nm of torque, providing performance comparable to modern Rally4 class cars on the historic region’s challenging tarmac and mountain roads.
