The facility is designed to provide stability for children in the foster care system, with a specific mission to prevent the separation of siblings during the placement process. The complex spans approximately 11,000 square feet and consists of 12 fully furnished homes and two studio apartments intended for individuals transitioning out of foster care toward independent living. Developed through a partnership between Bale and Executive Director Tim McCormick that began in 2022, the project received significant financial backing, including nearly $9 million from the Austrian American Council West. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Bale stated that the mission is to ‘turn their heartbreak and their pain into love and hope and a sense of future.’ In addition to housing, the initiative aims to provide psychological support, education, and social programs. With over 30,000 children in the foster care system in the Los Angeles region, organizers expect the first residents to begin moving into the community next month. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-14: Christian Bale opens foster care village in California Actor Christian Bale has opened Together California, a foster care village in Palmdale designed to keep siblings together within the care system. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/christian-bale-opens-together-california-foster-care-center ### 2026-09-11: Christian Bale opens $22M foster care village in Palmdale Christian Bale has opened Together California, a $22 million foster care village in Palmdale, California, designed to provide stable housing and keep siblings together within the foster care system. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/christian-bale-opens-foster-care-village-in-palmdale --- Cite as: Opening of Together California foster care village.
