Orb Energy has secured a $2 million strategic equity investment from KawiSafi Ventures, the for-profit investment arm of Acumen, to expand its commercial and industrial (C&I) solar business across East Africa. The capital is designated to support Orb Energy’s project pipeline, primarily in Kenya, while facilitating expansion into neighboring markets. The funding will assist projects as they transition from development and contracting phases into active construction. Additionally, the investment aims to accelerate project delivery, scale the local workforce, and strengthen institutional partnerships to mobilize future debt financing. KawiSafi Ventures provided the investment through its second fund, which focuses on green productivity, clean transportation, and the energy transition in Africa.
