Health authorities in Colombia and Mexico have launched community-based initiatives to increase awareness regarding organ and tissue donation.

In Mexico, the Secretaría de Salud and the State Transplant Center (Ceetra) organized the ‘Por Amor a la Vida 2026’ 4K recreational walk in Chihuahua to commemorate National Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplant Day. Approximately 500 people participated in the event, which combined donation advocacy with public health services, including vaccinations and screenings for diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and HIV.
