The Orix Buffaloes are undergoing roster and coaching transitions following the conclusion of the season.

Pitcher Anderson Espinoza, who earned the most wins title this year with a 2.71 ERA, has departed Japan after completing three seasons with the club. In a statement, Espinoza expressed gratitude to the fans, noting, “One thing is certain: no matter where I am, you will always be in my heart.”

Concurrently, veteran pitcher Yoshihisa Hirano, who recently retired, is expected to become the manager of the Orix Buffaloes’ farm team next season. Hirano aims to support younger players and will work alongside first-team manager Mamoru Kishida to strengthen the team’s developmental pipeline.

Expanding their developmental roster, the club has officially signed two 18-year-old Taiwanese prospects, Chang Yi-an and Hsu Chen-wei. Chang, an infielder and former Taiwan U18 captain, aims to stabilize his performance as a position player to earn a main roster spot. Hsu joins as a pitcher, noting his ambition to “quickly rise to the first team” and dominate in the NPB. Senior Taiwanese player Chen Mu-heng has offered to mentor the newcomers, emphasizing the importance of integrating into Japanese culture and language.
