Country music artist Orville Peck has announced his film debut in the live-action ‘Street Fighter’ cinematic reboot, directed by Kitao Sakurai. Peck will portray the character Vega, a role he described as a “queer-coded icon” that holds a personal connection to his childhood interest in the video game series.

In addition to his casting, Peck has achieved a media milestone as the first gay singer to appear on the cover of Playgirl magazine. He noted that he is the only openly gay man in the ‘Street Fighter’ production and reflected on his increasing public visibility.
