In the Ostrava-Jih district, the Soiva and Hlubina hostels are closing to undergo major redevelopment. Residents are being relocated as part of the transition.

The Soiva hostel in Zábřeh is slated for demolition after the municipal district acquired the 10,000-square-meter site for 100 million CZK. Local officials indicated the land may eventually be used for municipal housing. 

Meanwhile, the Hlubina building will be transformed into a modern residential complex. The owner intends to reconstruct and expand the structure to 14 floors, with plans to provide over 230 apartments and 200 parking spaces.
