The Pal Arinsal ski resort in Andorra has received the Legacy Award 2026 for its sustainable mountain biking initiatives. The recognition, presented during the Golden Arrow Awards, highlights the resort’s “Leave No Trace, Leave A Legacy in The Pyrenees” project, which focuses on renewable energy use, carbon footprint reduction, and community economic support.

Concurrently, the Andorra heritage department has issued a favorable report regarding a project to connect the Pal and Arinsal ski sectors. To safeguard paleontological interests, a protected perimeter will be established around Port Negre to preserve discovered fossils, prohibiting the installation of ski lifts or snow cannons within that zone. Further evaluations regarding environmental impact and rockfall risks are required before the connection project can proceed.
