The National Action Party (PAN) in Guanajuato finalized the selection of nine leaders for its ‘Defensores de la Patria, la Familia y la Libertad’ program. The selection process utilized a multi-component evaluation model covering nine municipalities, including Guanajuato, Irapuato, León, and Silao. Notable appointees included Juan Carlos Romero Hicks and Víctor Manuel Zanella Huerta.

Following the announcement, party members Eduardo López Mares and Deputy Susana Bermúdez Cano formally challenged the results in Irapuato. The challenge specifically questions the selection of Víctor Zanella Huerta and expresses dissatisfaction with the scores from the citizen evaluation phase. State PAN president Juanita de la Cruz Martínez stated the challenge will be forwarded to the party’s National Executive Committee (CEN) for analysis.
