Following a 1-0 defeat to Olympiacos in the Stoiximan Super League, Panathinaikos coach Jakob Nielsen became the center of controversy due to a significant translation error. While Nielsen originally stated, “I think we deserved to lose... I believe we were the second-best team on the field,” his official Greek translation incorrectly claimed he believed his team was the best on the pitch and did not deserve the loss.

Nielsen later addressed the media to clarify his stance, admitting the team performed below standards and that Olympiacos was the superior side. He stated there were no excuses for the defeat and emphasized the need to refocus on the club’s upcoming Conference League fixture against Borac Banja Luka.
