Severe storms in Paraguay have caused significant infrastructure damage across several major medical facilities. Initially, the National Cancer Institute (Incan) in Areguá reported operating at 70% capacity after heavy rain, hail, and winds blew off roofs in the admissions sector and destroyed glass doors and windows. Medical Director Rodrigo Alfonso noted that 24 patients required relocation, though no serious injuries were reported.

The impact expanded to include at least six major health establishments. The Hospital de Clínicas in Asunción reported ceiling collapses and leaks in sensitive areas such as the pediatric intensive care unit, neonatology, and adult emergency departments, leading to the temporary suspension of mastology operating room activities. The Instituto de Medicina Tropical (IMT) experienced severe flooding in its pediatric intensive care unit due to roof damage, which necessitated the immediate evacuation of children; repairs for the IMT are estimated at approximately 274.6 million guaraníes. Other affected facilities include Ineram and the Materno Infantil of Fernando de la Mora.

In Caazapá, the Regional Hospital has successfully restored its pulmonology services following repairs to a consultation room damaged by the storms. This restoration was achieved through inter-institutional cooperation between the hospital and the Caazapá Departmental Government. While critical medical equipment remained largely undamaged, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare continues to manage evacuation protocols and structural repairs.
