During the Paris Masters, Argentine player Tomás Etcheverry advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Alex de Miñaur in straight sets, 7-6 (2), 6-3. This victory, which marked Etcheverry’s first career win against a top 10 opponent, follows his previous upset of Andrey Rublev. Etcheverry is scheduled to face Rinky Hijikata in the next round.

De Miñaur’s loss eliminated him from contention for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, ending a two-season streak of participation in the event. Additionally, Australian Rinky Hijikata defeated Novak Djokovic, a result that also ruled the Serbian player out of the ATP Finals.

Other tournament developments include Carlos Alcaraz advancing to the round of 16 after defeating Alex Michelsen, which sets up a match against Matteo Berrettini. Meanwhile, fellow Argentine Thiago Tirante was eliminated in the second round by Jan-Lennard Struff.
