The Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) has initiated a regional agenda to promote women’s leadership and economic autonomy through municipal tourism. During a dialogue session held at the Dominican Republic Senate, titled ‘Empowerment of women in municipal tourism development for Sustainable Regional Tourism Integration,’ officials established a roadmap for the rights of municipal women.

This initiative aims to increase women's participation in community development decisions and serves as a foundation for the upcoming VI Forum of Municipal Women of the Region, scheduled for October 20. The process involves collaboration between parliamentarians, mayors, diplomats, and representatives from civil society and international organizations.
