Recent reports from South Korea detail two separate incidents of parricide involving adult children killing their parents.

In late September, a Chinese national in her 50s was arrested in Ansan after allegedly attacking her mother with a weapon following an argument over lifestyle habits. The victim, a woman in her 70s, died after being transported to a hospital.

In mid-September, a woman in her 40s was arrested in Cheonan for the murder of her father. The suspect allegedly killed her father with a blunt object while he was sleeping, motivated by stress regarding significant financial losses from failed stock and real estate investments. The crime was discovered several weeks later following a missing person report.
