Ahead of their fifth-round EHF Champions League match in Belgrade, Partizan coach Raul Gonzalez emphasized the need for increased offensive efficiency to secure a victory. A win by at least five goals was required for Partizan to gain a tiebreaker advantage over Porto for third place in Group A, which would influence their Europa League seeding.

The match resulted in a 33-33 draw. Porto, led by Carlos Martingo, held a halftime lead of 14-16 and built a seven-goal advantage during the second half. However, Partizan staged a comeback in the final 15 minutes, equalizing three seconds before the final whistle.
