Developments: 2. Pavel Šulc, an offensive player for Olympique Lyonnais and the Czech national team, has been navigating physical recovery and professional challenges. Initially, Šulc addressed his recovery from a knee injury, noting that while swelling and bruising persisted, the injury did not significantly limit his play, though harder pitches caused pain. During this period, he also expressed concern regarding the demanding UEFA Nations League schedule, suggesting that the Czech Republic would need heavy squad rotation to manage the physical load of playing four matches in eleven days. Subsequent reports indicated that Šulc is dealing with more specific complications from a knee injury involving bone edema. He noted that while he has continued to compete, a full recovery could potentially require three months of complete rest. Additionally, Šulc reflected on the recent transfer window, noting that despite interest from Premier League and Serie A clubs such as Juventus, no permanent move occurred. He suggested that high transfer fees demanded by Lyon and his nationality may have influenced these negotiations. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-25: Pavel Šulc faces injury and transfer market hurdles at Lyon Olympique Lyonnais attacker Pavel Šulc faces a dual challenge of managing a persistent knee injury and navigating transfer market difficulties linked to his valuation and nationality. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pavel-ulc-faces-injury-and-transfer-market-hurdles-at-lyon ### 2026-09-21: Pavel Šulc warns of demanding Nations League schedule Pavel Šulc discusses recovering from a knee injury and warns that the upcoming Nations League schedule is a ‘massacre’ due to the intense frequency of matches. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pavel-ulc-warns-of-demanding-nations-league-schedule --- Cite as: Pavel Šulc injury and professional status.
