The Peaceful Rain initiative, an international and interreligious movement focused on peacebuilding, was officially launched in Rijeka, Croatia. The movement originated from the Mediterranean Theological Encounters held in Lovran, which addressed peacemaking in an era of militarism.

The initiative emphasizes that peace is a collective responsibility built through individual actions rather than just political declarations. Its foundation, the Mediterranean Peace Alliance, includes ten obligations such as rejecting violence, fostering dialogue, and practicing solidarity. The movement is open to all individuals regardless of their religious, national, or worldview affiliations.

The launch event featured various religious and civil leaders, including Archbishop Mate Uzinić, Mufti Aziz ef. Hasanović, and Metropolitan Grigorije Durić.
