The 2026 Peñafrancia festivities in Naga City began with the Harubay motorcade procession on September 2. The event, themed ‘Harubay: A Pilgrimage of Hope, Faith, and Love’, involved religious organizations from the Archdiocese of Caceres transporting sacred images. The commencement included a grand Eucharistic Celebration led by Archbishop Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, who highlighted the theme ‘Ina: Nurturing a Growing Church’ in connection with the 75th anniversary of the elevation of Caceres to an Archdiocese.

On September 11, the celebrations continued with the annual Traslacion procession, which drew approximately 820,000 devotees. Authorities reported the event was peaceful and orderly, utilizing security measures such as police deployment, CCTV, drones, and Starlink devices for monitoring. The month-long festival is scheduled to include a Fluvial Procession on September 19, alongside various parades and civic activities.
