Specific titles, such as the EA Sports FC series, have already seen this shift. In the case of EA Sports FC, the series moved from a PEGI 3 rating to PEGI 16 due to the randomized mechanics in modes like Ultimate Team, rather than changes to on-pitch gameplay. While these stricter standards are being applied in Europe via the PEGI Classic and IARC systems, the North American Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has indicated it will not follow this approach.
