The musical works of Felix Mendelssohn, particularly his sacred choral compositions, are being highlighted through various live performances and new recordings in Germany.

In late 2026, the Christuskirche Motettenchor, directed by Volker Gloßner, scheduled a performance of the oratorio ‘Elias’ featuring the Regensburger Kammerorchester and several soloists.

Earlier in 2026, the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester performed ‘Elias’ at the Philharmonie Berlin under guest conductor Gregor Meyer, accompanied by the Berlin Philharmonic Choir. Additionally, Naxos released a collection of Mendelssohn’s complete sacred choral works, featuring the WDR Radio Choir Cologne and the Cologne Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christoph Poppen.
