The organization of the Pernambuco State Championship initially faced delays in releasing its official tournament schedule. As of late September 2026, the delay had exceeded the legal timeframe mandated by the General Sports Law, which requires regulations and schedules to be disclosed at least 45 days before a championship begins.

Subsequently, the Pernambuco Football Federation (FPF) released the official schedule and regulations for the 2027 Campeonato Pernambucano, specifically for the first stage known as ‘Turno Forró’. This new format unifies the A1 and A2 series into a single competition featuring 24 clubs divided into four groups. The tournament structure includes a first phase of single-match fixtures, followed by a round of 16, quarter-finals, and a final quadrangular stage to determine the winner of the first stage.
